Covenant on Civic Integration and Language
Together with nine other language schools in The Hague, TaalTafels is part of the Hague Covenant on Civic Integration and Language. This covenant has been concluded with the Municipality of The Hague, which sets quality requirements for language education. These cooperating schools put the person integrating at the centre.
The covenant helps people who have to purchase their own integration courses. These are family and other migrants and status holders who fall under the older Civic Integration Act (the “ondertussengroep”/otg – the interim group). The municipality advises and refers people to one of the covenant partners for high-quality education.
Within the covenant, TaalTafels is one of the providers specialising in the B1–B2 level for students with a high learning profile.
On 3 June 2022, the director of TaalTafels, Peter Wortelboer, spoke on behalf of the language providers at the signing of the covenant with the Alderman for Social Affairs and Employment, Arjen Kapteijns. In his speech, he called for good and transparent cooperation with one another and with the Municipality of The Hague.
